About this Design

"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." ~ Genesis 1:1.
Bereshit or Bereishit (בְּרֵאשִׁית – Hebrew for "in a beginning," the first words in the bible) is the first weekly Torah portion (parashah) in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah reading. The parashah consists of Genesis 1:1–6:8. In the parashah, God creates the heavens, the world, Adam and Eve, and Sabbath.
Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year, is the first of the Jewish High Holy Days. The ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur (day of atonement) have special significance because in Jewish traditions during this period God passes judgment over every individual, but reserves final judgement until Yom Kippur.
May you be inscribed and sealed (in the Book of Life) for a good year (L'shanah tovah techatemu ve tikatevu - לְשָׁנָה טוֹבָה תֵּחָתֵמוּ וְתִכָּתֵבוּ).
