Ethical Manufacturing

Corporate Responsibility

Corporate Responsibility is a broad-based movement in business that encourages companies to take responsibility for the impact of their activities on customers, employees, communities and the environment. Companies committed to corporate responsibility also agree to abide by international labor and human rights standards.

At WearBU, we're ensuring that our products are produced under safe, fair, legal and humane working conditions throughout our supply chain. We care about where (and how) our products are created. We only source apparel from high quality, ethical, sweatshop-free factories. We believe in supporting ethical practices and fair wages and working conditions so that customers can make conscious decisions.

So who makes our apparel? We source from a variety of clothing manufactures.

Bella + Canvas is our biggest supplier. Bella + Canvas' US production and office facilities have received Platinum accreditation from the Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP), which carries high standards for human resources management, health and safety standards, environmental and Eco-friendly practices, and legal compliance including import and export customs. You can learn more about Bella + Canvas' practices here.

Next Level Apparel -- Like Bella + Canvas, Next Level manufactures only in Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production-certified factories. In addition to being sweatshop-free and child labor-free, Next Level also has high standards for social responsibility, which you can read more about here.

Anvil -- As part of the Gildan family of brands, All products are manufactured sustainably and responsibly. Anvil apparel is also certified under Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 Class I or II. You can read more about Anvil here.

Where are our products printed?

It depends on where they're ordered. We have print and fulfillment centers in three locations -- Los Angeles CA, Charlotte NC and Riga, Latvia. If you order from anywhere in North America (which accounts for most of our orders), your products will be printed, processed and shipped from Los Angeles or Charlotte.

What inks are we using for printing apparel?

Our apparel is created with the latest in garment printing technology. In addition, our inks are water based and Eco-friendly. They are absolutely free of any heavy metals, animal by-products, formaldehyde and Alkylphenol Ethoxylates (APE). This makes the ink non-hazardous, non-toxic and 100% biodegradable

We’re using CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) compliant inks, which are required when printing on children's wear 12 and below.

What about our packaging?

We try to do our best to minimize waste in packaging and source Eco-friendly packaging materials. Many of our packaging materials are either recyclable or biodegradable. Bubble wraps are made from a minimum of 15% recycled plastic and 10% post-consumer content.
